Engineering learners are currently looking at wing design and aerodynamics. The learners design and produce wings from balsa wood and then test their aerodynamics in our wind tunnel.
This weekend, we’ve had nearly 60 learners out on their DofE Bronze Assessed Expedition in the Peak District. Congratulations to them all for successfully completing their expedition. They had to deal with horrendous weather on Saturday but were blessed with blue skies and sunshine today. It was hard work but they all made it.

Staffordshire Schools’ Combined Events Athletics Competition On Friday, 10th May, learners from Year 9 and 10 competed at the Staffordshire Schools’ Combined Events Athletics competition at Northwood stadium. The learners competed in a pentathlon consisting of long jump, 100m hurdles, javelin, shot putt and 1500m. Our Y10 boys team came first in the competition and were crowned Staffordshire County Champions. …
It’s been another fantastic Comic Relief fundraiser today at The JCB Academy. The total raised today was a magnificent £701.85 Learners and staff at the academy and sixth form raised £530.85 Apprentices and staff over at our higher apprenticeship training centre contributed with a fantastic £171.00
Are you fundraising for Comic Relief 2019? The JCB Academy will be doing various fundraising activities. Learners and staff can wear their own ‘red themed’ clothes, we are having a bake sale and competitions including guess the staff member from a selection of childhood photos.

A few very interesting days! From working in the automotive workshop at St Patrick’s technical college, trying some welding and putting cars on hoists. To sitting in the Holdon Monaro at MTA, which we will see racing at the Calipso tomorrow. We are getting truly spoiled by St Patrick’s.
Today we visited the JCB Indian Headquarters at Ballabgarh where we were welcomed in the traditional Indian way with a flower garland and bindi.
